We came here for just a drink and ended up ordering some food. Hands down great atmosphere, great service and great food! The manager (Clay) came over and greeted us with great smiles, he brought us some salsas that paired great with our food and made sure we enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be coming back and bringing friends and family!

The location is decent. It's great if you're in the area or already live in Roseville. It's right next to the mall and many other dining options available. The parking lot is plentiful so you won't have trouble finding a place to hitch your horse. However, for most of us city dwellers it's far out of the way. It would be nice if they had a central location closer to Sacramento. The bathrooms were very clean and looked modern. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and it almost has a night club feel to it. They had a guitarist playing renditions of popular songs. The fancy neon lights and a disco ball caught my eye among the decor. The service was friendly and speedy. In our party of 10, we ordered without a problem. Our food came quickly even though it was busy for dinner. Our server was very nice. No complaints on the service. The flavor of our meal was exquisite. I thoroughly enjoyed the "salsa Lorenza", which wasn't spicy at all but had an incredible flavor. The chips were warm, crunchy, and had a good flavor to them that complimented the salsas well. The steak was buttered and cooked well, however there were some fatty parts still there. I liked how they give you 2 corn tortillas in addition to 2 flour tortillas. The mole tasted traditional and the churros were amazing. My only knock on La Popular is the prices/portions. For starters, everything is incredibly expensive. Every dish is $20 minimum and goes to $35+. It's impossible to walk out of here for under $60 for a meal for two which makes this a ($$$$) for me. A high price tag would be warranted if the portions were larger but they are far smaller than expected. I left still feeling hungry. I noticed the tacos at a nearby table were microscopic which made me not order them. The flavor of the food halfway makes up for the price tag but you can't ignore out the portion sizes here. You have to break the bank to come! Bottom line/TLDR: great flavor but expensive and will walk out still hungry.

If you are looking for a place that has exceptional mouth watering food and a stunning atmosphere then La Popular is the place to go! This restaurant takes pride in everything they do and it absolutely shows! The staff are top-tier and always make sure that you have everything you need! I can't speak highly enough about this restaurant and is always the place we go when family or friends are visiting. Their al pastor meat is freshly cut off of a vertical rotisserie and it is soooo delicious! We opted for nachos and cocktails this time around and it was such a treat! Thank you guys for always taking care of us!

Love this place for a date night! The place is always dimly lit and just a cool romantic vibe. The service here is also very friendly and even learned about how this restaurant ended up here. Their salsa flight is really good and such a great appetizer, I love that they give you a little notecard with the ingredients of each salsa. I ordered campechano tacos (not pictured) and they are my favorite tacos on the menu. It's definitely not something you see on every menu, so I would recommend trying at least once. The tacos may not be as filling but you can always order another appetizer or dessert! I also had the Yucatán toucan drink and it was pretty strong but once you mix in the sugar, it's actually delicious. We will continue to come back and try other items for date night!
